Third party apps can read your emails how to protect yourself from this ?

This security threat is invitable after we saw how Cambridge Analytica abused permissions in third-party apps to access sensitive data in Facebook accounts

The same way third-party apps can use permissions to read your Emails in Gmail which you may have given without a proper check

Steps to prevent apps from reading your emails

1. Login to Gmail

2. Visit this Link

3. Click on Third-party access

4. Read access types for all the apps and click on [REMOVE ACCESS] for all the apps that have access to

• Viewing email and setting
• Sending emails on your behalf
• Account access

Note : also remove access for apps which which you think shouldn’t have the type of access shown in security checkup.

Tip : always check for access requests from third-party apps before providing permission.
