How to remove Advertisements from Miui and Xiaomi apps
Xiaomi has recently introduced advertisement in miui 9 and 10
Xiaomi has admited it does introduce Ads in miui and other xiaomi apps, but it also provides methods to turn them off
In this post i will be guiding you on how to remove Advertisements from Miui and other xiaomi apps
Disabling Ad Authorization
- Settings > Additional settings > Authorization and Revocation
- Disable access for ‘msa’
Note : Revocation might fails a few times, please try few more times and it will work
Disabling Ads in file manager
- File manager settings > About
- Turn off ‘Recommedations’
Disabling Ads in Security app
- Security app > settings
- Turn off “Receive Recommedations”
Disabling Ads in miui browser
Miui browser have access to notification shade, it also injects Ads in notifications
- Miui browser settings > Advanced > Top sites order
- Turn off “Receive Recommedations”
Disabling Ads in Miui Downloader
This app also injects Ads in notification
- Go to Tools folder, where generaly clock and calculator app recides
- Launch Downloader or Download manager
- Downloader settings
Turn off ‘Show recommended content’
Disabling Ads in Mi Music app
- Music app, go to Settings > Advanced Settings and turn off ‘Receive Recommendations’.
Disabling Advertising Tracker
If you don’t want Xiaomi to track your habits, which help them to send personalized Ads follow these steps
- Open the Settings app and navigate to Additional Settings > Privacy > Ad Services and disable ‘Personalized Ad Recommendation’
Note : Xiaomi uses word ‘Recommedation’ instead of ‘advertisement’
So if any mentioned steps doesn’t work for you because of different UI, please find ‘Recommedation’ in the app and turn it off
